Chef Meals: PB&J on Potato Bread

It’s hard to find motivation to prepare any food for yourself at home after you’ve spent 10+ hours on your feet in a hot kitchen cooking food for others. That’s where the inspiration for this newest series of posts—Chef Meals—came from. The vast majority of the time I rely on whatever food joint is on my way home to provide sustenance, but I occasionally make something for myself at home after work (albeit rarely).

Peanut Butter and Jelly

The bulk of my cooking (and blog posting) occurs on my days off (such as today). This past year has shown me how difficult it can be for professional chefs/cooks to keep up with the demands of regularly maintaining a food blog such as the lovely one you’re reading. Thanks to some determination—and a huge backlog of stuff from before I started working in a restaurant full time—I’ve been able to put up new posts with at least a hint of regularity.

Well now IT’S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!!

Peanut Butter and Jelly

The peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a childhood favorite of mine. Every once in a while I have these intense cravings where I really just need to put one (or two) in my belly.

Believe it or not, the options are many: smooth or crunchy peanut butter, your choice of jelly/jam, and the type of bread. You can even go the extra mile to make triple- or quadruple-decker sandwiches.

Now all I need is a glass of milk. What are some of your go-to meals when you really don’t feel like cooking?

I’m all about the tuna salad…so many ways to prepare it, and I’m never left disappointed.
