Ingredients:

  • 3 large apples (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of amaretto
  • 1 cup of oatmeal
  • 1 lemon
  • cinnamon
  • nutmeg

Instructions:
Put 5 tablespoons of butter in a saute pan. Add the apples, and season with cinnamon and nutmeg. (I’m not exactly sure the exact amount to use, but I would guesstimate 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg.) Add the juice from the lemon, 1 cup of brown sugar and the amaretto. Let the apples soften in the pan for a couple of minutes. In a bowl, combine 1 cup of oatmeal, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 3 tablespoons of melted butter. Put the apples in a baking dish and top with the oatmeal mixture. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until the top is nice and golden.
